Notice Concerning Try- Out Provisions for 800 / 900 MHz Frequency- Range Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Application

Xin Bu Wu [2007] No.205

To Radio Management Offices (Bureaus) in all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government and Radio Monitoring Center at national level:

In order to adapt 800 / 900 MHz Frequency- Range Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Application to increasing social and economic development in our country, and to interface with relevant international standards on the basis of radio frequency classification and industrial development situation in China, we hereby stipulate Try- Out Provisions for 800 / 900 MHz Frequency- Range Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Application, which is issued and executed officially from now on.

800 / 900 MHz Frequency- Range Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Application Provisions (Try- out)

  1. 800 / 900 MHz frequency- range radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is applicable to these frequency ranges between 840 – 845 MHz and between 920 – 925 MHz;
  2. Radio frequency specification of radio transmission equipment using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology in such frequency range is as follows:
    1. Carrier frequency tolerance: 20×10-6;
    2. Channel bandwidth and channel occupied bandwidth (99% energy): 250 KHz;
    3. Channel center frequency:

fc (MHz) = 840. 125 + N×0.25 and

fc (MHz) = 920. 125 + M×0. 25 (N and M are integral number between 0 – 19);

    1. Power leakage ratio of neighbor channel: 40 dB (First neighbor channel), 60 dB (Second neighbor channel);
    2. Transmitting power:

2.8 Conducted interference transmission between power supply port and telecom port shall meet limit requirement stated in national standard “GB 9254 – 1998: B Type Equipment”.

    1. Under limit working voltage and limit temperature conditions specified by manufacturer, transmitting power and frequency tolerance of the equipment shall satisfy relevant technical specifications.

3.Radio transmission equipment applying RFID technology in such frequency range shall be included in micropower (Short distance) radio equipment management. However, before put into use, such equipment must be approved in accordance with relevant provisions stipulated by Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom Industries and certified according to radio transmission equipment model issued by the Ministry.

Whereas 800 / 900 MHz frequency- range radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is a new radio application technology that is expansible extensively, radio management departments at all levels shall tighten control and surveillance over radio frequency identification (RFID) equipment in such frequency range to avoid potential radio interference, to find and handle radio interference promptly, and to ensure stable and smooth deployment of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology application in such frequency range.
