China RoHS

China RoHS restricts lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and the brominated flame retardants PBB and PBDE in electrical and electronic products. It applies in two stages: marking and disclosure for all products in scope, and a conformity assessment requirement for the products listed in the China RoHS catalogue.

Products in the catalogue must be covered by certification or by a self-declaration supported by testing before they are placed on the China market. The catalogue is expanded periodically — 23 further product types were added in the most recent revision.
