Module SRRC
Approved radio modules and the host products that use them
A radio module can hold its own SRRC type approval. Host products that integrate an already approved module often avoid a full radio test campaign, provided the module is used inside the conditions of its certificate.
The saving is real but conditional: antenna type and gain, firmware, power settings and the module's marking all have to match what was approved.
What this covers
- Type approval for the module itself, usable across several host products
- Host integration review: antenna, placement, power supply and firmware control
- Guidance on the CMIIT ID marking to carry on the host product
- Advice on when a host still needs its own approval
- Support for module vendors preparing an integration instruction sheet
