Which radio products fall inside — and outside — SRRC type approval
SRRC type approval covers equipment that transmits radio frequency energy for communication purposes. Before an application is prepared we check the product against the current scope so you do not pay for an approval you do not need — or discover at customs that one is missing.
The assessment looks at the radio technologies inside the product, the frequency bands and output power used, and how the product will be placed on the China market.
What this covers
- Receive-only equipment with no transmitter is normally out of scope
- Products that only carry a pre-approved radio module may be covered by the module certificate
- Samples for R&D, exhibition, testing or re-export follow a separate customs route
- Frequency bands that are not open for civil use in China cannot be approved at all
- We confirm the scope in writing before any test or filing cost is committed
